Lincolnshire, England
Most of the Howitts were born and raised in and around Folkingham. Many died there, but some moved to the U. S. directly from Folkingham. Thus it seems like the roots of the Howitt's descendants are buried in this little village. During much of its existence it was comprised of just three or four streets. Only after World War II did it add housing to its original buildings.
